In Prison Programs

Broken and Beautiful serves both women’s prisons in Missouri, one in Vandalia and the other in Chillicothe.  We provide weekly services and classes to over two hundred women at these prisons.  Our programming includes weekly services where our speakers share testimony to their changed lives through Christ and reveal God’s character and love.  During these services, women will often accept Christ and start down the path of a changed life.

To support this process, we offer weekly classes (Courage for My Life), pray with them, provide encouragement, and offer to help them find good places to transition after they leave prison.   We have a discipleship program (Shepherd’s program) for those that want to go deeper. Through this interaction, our volunteers are building a trusted relationship centered on God’s love.  For many of the ladies, this may be the first time they’ve experienced this unconditional love. Prior to release, we provide pre-release counseling to better prepare the ladies for the challenges outside of prison and for our ministry to better aid them based on their unique circumstances.
